ABOUT EIDOS PHOTOGRAPHY

Eidos Photography is a Rome-based photography team founded by Jeff in 2013. The name Eidos comes from the Greek word for form or appearance—a reminder to look beyond the landmark and focus on the people within the frame. Our work includes private sessions for couples, families, and solo travelers; proposals, engagements, honeymoons, anniversaries, and vow renewals; intimate weddings; and editorial assignments.
GUIDED, NEVER FORCED.
You do not need modeling experience or rehearsed poses. We guide posture, hands and movement with precision while leaving space for genuine interaction. The session feels calm and considered; the photographs look refined without feeling staged. Every frame is intentional, but the emotion remains entirely your own.

OUR STYLE
Our style blends cinematic portraiture with editorial direction. Rather than a paparazzi-style record of passing moments, every frame is shaped through light, movement and composition—while leaving room for genuine emotion. Rome’s monumental architecture becomes part of the story: epic in scale, luminous at golden hour and dramatic at blue hour. When the scene calls for it, Hasselblad medium format supports this visual language with nuanced color, natural skin tones and smooth highlight-to-shadow transitions, creating images that feel iconic and timeless.
LOCAL KNOWLEDGE, APPLIED IN REAL TIME

ROME CHANGES. WE KNOW HOW TO MOVE WITH IT.
Rome looks different from one hour to the next. Light, street activity, and access can shift throughout the day. Since 2013, we have learned how to adjust the order of locations, nearby backgrounds, and shooting angles as each session unfolds. These decisions keep the route efficient and give the final gallery greater variety.
Before the session, we confirm the participants, occasion, timing, route, wardrobe considerations, and any proposal or special arrangements.
Your photographer guides posture, hands, movement, clothing, and positioning throughout the session, so you always know what to do without looking overly posed.
Each delivered photograph is individually refined for exposure, color, skin tone, composition, and distracting elements while preserving natural expressions.
Your session is reserved for you and the people included in your booking. It is never combined with another group, and the pace is adjusted to your party.
Every Eidos session follows the same preparation, direction, and quality-control process, regardless of which team photographer is assigned.
Most Rome packages are delivered within 48 hours through a private online gallery. The number of edited photographs and any different delivery timeline are stated before booking.

BEHIND THE PHOTOGRAPHS

Equipment chosen for the photograph—not the label.
Our current camera systems include the 100-megapixel Hasselblad X2D II 100C with XCD lenses and the Sony A7R V with fast professional prime and zoom lenses. The Hasselblad is used when a session benefits from a slower pace, high resolution, color depth and large-print detail. The Sony system is preferred for fast movement, young children, flying dresses, candid sequences and situations where response speed matters more. We also use portable flash or continuous lighting when the scene needs it, followed by a color-managed editing workflow on calibrated displays. The purpose of the equipment is not to make every session technically identical. It is to choose the tool that best matches the subject, light and pace.
Everything you need before your session.
We believe planning should feel as effortless as the photographs themselves.
Your session will be assigned to one of the Eidos photographers introduced on this page, and the photographer’s name will be confirmed before the session. You may request a specific photographer before booking; requests are subject to availability and confirmed in writing.
Photographs from most sessions are delivered within 48 hours through a private Pixieset online gallery. If a different delivery time applies, it will be stated in your package details. Your gallery will remain available for one year from the delivery date, giving you time to view, download, and share your edited photographs. We recommend downloading and securely backing up your images before access expires.
Your online gallery is private. If you do not want your photographs used on our website, portfolio, social media, or publications, notify us in writing before the session and we will mark your booking as private.
Direct bookings may be cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours before the session. Cancellations made within 24 hours are non-refundable.
